Maple surgaring season got one last chance

Hearing for Wickliffe girl accused of killing baby moved to May
Court has continued a competency hearing for a Wickliffe girl accused of murdering an infant. Instead of appearing on Monday, the 11-year-old girl now returns to court May 1. The incident leading to the baby’s death happened as the girl’s mother babysat her. Authorities have identified the woman as 31-year-old Trina Whitehead.
Wife, stepson, stepson’s girlfriend charged in Newbury man’s murder
Authorities have charged a Newbury man’s wife, his stepson, and his stepson’s girlfriend in his murder from a little over three years ago. The sheriff’s office and the prosecutor’s office have announced the indictment of Doretta Scheffield, David Rowles, and Gina Battaglia in the death of 53-year-old Randy Scheffield. Ashtabula targeting areas for improvement
At a public hearing last night, people gave Ashtabula some guidance with the city preparing to apply for CDBG funding. The city hoped state grants could help pay for improvement projects. Those in attendance named the empty Carlisle’s on Main Avenue and its parking lot on Park Avenue among their concerns.
Indians lose to Reds, play Diamondbacks today
